    Today, Friday, the Municipality of Baghdad revealed the details of the establishment of the new Sadr City, while indicating the construction of 60,000 housing units within the first phase.
    The Director General of the Department of Relations and Information in the Municipality of Baghdad, Muhammad al-Rubaie, said, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani directed that the next year 2024 be signs of building a new city in Baghdad, and it was chosen to be part of the old program (10 by 10) in the city's areas." Al-Sadr, Al-Ma’amil and Al-Hamidiya, which extends from the Al-Dasim area after the canal dam towards the Al-Rashad area to the administrative and municipal borders of Baghdad, intersecting with the Al-Ma’mal area,” pointing out that “in this triangle (Al-Ma’mal Sadr 1 and Sadr 2) will be the new Sadr City.” 
    He pointed out, "The new Sadr City will be inside a city that has social, economic, educational and health needs, as well as complete infrastructure, and contains horizontal and vertical buildings, and its philosophy will be integrated with the old city."
    Al-Rubaie explained that "the first phase of the city includes 4,000 dunums and includes the construction of 60,000 housing units," noting that "the engineering consulting office set out to study this city in order to adopt the specifications of modern construction."
    He pointed out that "the Prime Minister approved the designs of the new Sadr City, which was presented by engineering consulting offices in which three Arab companies cooperated in one coalition, and the contract was concluded by the Municipality of Baghdad in the presence of the Prime Minister's Office," noting that "80 to 90 percent will be distributed to citizens close to the city." The new building will be of a high standard.
    He stressed that "the presentation of a detailed study on the designs and the implementation mechanism will take place within 480 days, after which the implementation of the project will begin."
