Today, Saturday, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, expressed his rejection of marketing and educating concepts that do not suit all societies and target the family, during his attendance at a celebration marking the Islamic Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

Al-Sudani stressed that the women's file is a priority for the government, referring to the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (2023-2030), which was launched by the government last March, and includes several axes to empower Iraqi women in several fields.
He pointed out that the defense of women is something that is supported by the laws, laws and noble goals, explaining that when we take the memory of Sayyida Zainab (peace be upon her) going on the march of families to the Levant, to combat violence against women, this does not mean a scratch in her courage, but rather a remembrance of honoring women and elevating her status.

And he stressed, we are not against all laws or agreements that work to empower women, but rather we record our observations on what contradicts our values and paths.
He pointed out that supporting women and removing injustice from them was among the most important priorities of our governmental program, which later resulted in a number of decisions and directives pertaining to women.
He explained that the Council of Ministers approved the National Strategy for Iraqi Women (2023-2030), and the government is working to implement it, and it includes axes for participation, protection, economic empowerment, and social axes, referring to the activation of the Yazidi Survivors Law, and this law expanded to include Turkmen women and all components, and all sacrificed mothers and wives.
