    Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, expressed, on Thursday, his thanks to Turkey for its support for the region, stressing that Kurdistan will never forget this support.
    The region's presidency said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, received today the Turkish Foreign Minister, Hakan Fidan, explaining that the meeting, which was attended by the two vice-presidents of the region, witnessed discussions about Turkey's relations with Iraq and the region, areas of joint cooperation between them, relations and differences. Erbil and Baghdad and the negotiations between them and the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in general.



    In addition to expressing his happiness at the visit of the Turkish Foreign Minister, Barzani stressed, according to the statement, that the Kurdistan Region views importance on relations with Turkey, which have common economic, commercial and security interests, pointing to readiness to develop relations between Erbil and Ankara in all fields. 
    Barzani also expressed his thanks to Turkey for supporting the Kurdistan Region in all fields, especially in difficult times, and indicated that the Kurdistan Region will never forget Turkey's support for it.
    For his part, the Turkish Foreign Minister stressed that his country is particularly interested in its relations with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, noting that Baghdad and Erbil are of special importance to Turkey. 
    The Turkish Foreign Minister praised the "security and stability of Erbil and the Kurdistan Region," expressing his country's readiness to expand relations and assistance between the two sides in all fields, expressing at the same time his thanks to the President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, for his role in developing relations between Iraq and the Kurdistan Region with Turkey.


    In another aspect of the meeting, and according to the statement, there was interest in resuming the export of Kurdistan Region's oil through the Turkish port of Ceyhan, and the two sides exchanged opinions in this regard, as well as the situation in the region in general and several other issues of common concern.
