A security source in Anbar Governorate reported, on Monday, the outbreak of armed clashes between members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Arab tribal forces, supported by the United States, along the Iraqi-Syrian border.

The source said in a statement to the Maalouma Agency, “The areas of northern Syria witnessed armed clashes between the military councils of the Syrian clans and the US-backed (SDF) forces, at a distance of about 40 km from the areas near the Al-Qaim border crossing with Syria, west of Anbar, as part of a plan prepared by the American forces.” It was implemented by military councils to control the border areas linking Syria and Iraq.”
He added, "The Syrian forces requested the assistance of the Iraqi security forces to protect their borders and target terrorist elements if they attempt to escape from the deep areas of Syria towards the western areas of Anbar Governorate."
He pointed out that "the security forces took the utmost caution in all areas of the border strip with Syria."
He pointed out that "American warplanes flew intensively in the skies of the desert areas of Al-Qaim district towards the areas deep in Syria without knowing the real reasons behind the aerial reconnaissance operations." Ended / 12a
