"Stretch" the Kuwaiti border continued towards Iraqi territory threatens tens of families

    Alsumaria news/Basrah

    Dozens
of people demonstrated on the Umm Qasr in Basra, Wednesday, concern and
resentment by requiring them to prepare to evacuate their homes which
were within Iraqi territory before it creeps to the Kuwaiti border.

    Ya'qoub
Ismail said in an interview for "alsumaria news", that "Iraqi border
guards asked a few days before some of the MPS officers located in the
western end of the Umm Qasr area prepare to evacuate their homes which
inhabited since the 1980s and 1970s for demolition and included in the
Kuwaiti territory", stating that "force there to find alternative
accommodation without specifying a date for the family, but she waved
with the use of force to distance us from the region."

    Ismail
said that "residents tried on Tuesday, the Organization of a peaceful
sit-in in protest against the attempt to drive them from without
compensation but the Iraqi Government has sent officers from border
forces generals accompanying force stormed the tent sit-in and
threatened to burn them and arrest them if not to break up the sit-in",

    adding
that "the region was far from Kuwaiti territory, but Kuwaiti border
taking stretch since the early 1990s thanks to the generous concessions
to the successive Iraqi Governments, so we live in hostels away A few
meters from the trench border. "

In turn, one of the elders said
the border region, and named mutashar Al-Khafaji shanikh, speaking for
"alsumaria news", "some residents refuse financial compensation even if
they were, because they fail to vacate their homes which were born and
raised," adding that "the Iraqi Government must stop sacrificing more
    Iraqi territory."

Khafaji said that "the State of Kuwait is a
brotherly neighbor, many optometrists who are related to and friendship
with Kuwaiti nationals, but that land parents and grandparents will not
compromise, and even robbed from us by force, future generations will
    recover,"

adding that "the inhabitants of the region agreed not
to deal with anyone who tries to ask for votes from party nominees to
participate in the Government of the region has not visited any
government official since the previous elections."

    The Director
said the Umm Qasr, Salah Abdel Mahdi Habib in an interview for
"alsumaria news", that "the threat of displacement of the inhabitants of
the House officers concerning Iraq sought to exit from Chapter 7, until
Iraq achieves this should install the demarcation of the border with
    Kuwait,

adding that the demarcation process which was carried
out during the 1990s included a concrete border pillars, recently
allowed the Iraqi Government to the Kuwaiti counterpart to complete the
project to extend the security metal tube connecting the concrete
    pillars along the border."

Habib said that "at least three homes
between pillar no. 104 and 105 pillar within the path of the tube that
Kuwait intends to put it, since Iraq is obliged to establish a border
security patrol road by 50 metres, this means that the entire officers '
Congress will demolish and abandon their population,"

    adding
that "the Iraqi Government has promised a few years ago to build an
apartment complex for families affected by the completion of the
demarcation process, the Administration has scrambled to allocate land
for the construction of the complex, but the Government has not
Available funds to implement the project. "

    The Manager
considered that "the inhabitants of the region lived in constant worry
since learning the intention of Kuwait resume pipeline project, while
the Iraqi Government did not pay attention to their suffering",

    stating
that "the best course of action can do when Kuwait proceed to extend
the pipeline section between two pillars is to contact the Committee and
request for help, hoping to erect tents in the open to accommodate
citizens who they will desert their homes."

    The UN Security
Council issued resolution 833 in 1993 under which the demarcation of the
boundary between Kuwait and Iraq, and along some 216 km, the
application of resolution partially under the former regime to carve out
vast tracts of Iraqi territory and its annexation to Kuwaiti territory,
crept to the Kuwaiti border dozens of homes and farms in the Safwan
area, and the residential area was located in the area of Umm Qasr has
become since the mid-1990s is entirely within the boundaries of the
State of Kuwait, and that the Government destroyed the region To make
room for the border forces to practice their work unimpeded, demolitions
of tens of houses, a primary school and a mosque, a popular market.

    Many
have challenged Iraqi officials after the fall of the former regime in
2003 to complete the demarcation of the land boundary between the two
countries in accordance with resolution 833, as that decision imposed on
Iraq under international pressure and in extraordinary circumstances.

    In
2005, the Iraqi Government was keen to embarrass when dozens of people
in Safwan and Umm Qasr, a foreign company was the pipeline for
demarcation of the land boundary, the protests and the attendant night
mortar shelling to stop working on the project before its completion.
