    The Ministry of Planning revealed, on Thursday, that (86%) of Iraqis over the age of (5) years use mobile phones, indicating that the percentage of phone use among males reaches (90%), compared to (81%) among females.
    The Ministry’s official spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said in a statement received by “Al-Ma’louma” that “the Central Bureau of Statistics conducted a survey on the use of information and communications technology for families and individuals for the year 2022, and the results of the survey showed that the percentage of individuals who do not use a mobile phone reached (14%).” Just".
    He added, "The percentage of mobile phone use in Baghdad Governorate was the highest, reaching (97%), followed by Najaf Governorate with a rate of (93.5%), then Basra Governorate with a rate of slightly less than (93%), and Kirkuk Governorate came fourth." With a rate of (92%), Wasit Governorate came in fifth place with a rate of (72%).
    Al-Hindawi pointed out, “The results of the survey showed that the percentage of individuals aged (5) years and over who use a smart mobile phone device reached (92%), compared to (10%) who use a regular phone, and with regard to using the Internet, according to the results of the survey, between Al-Hindawi said that the percentage of individuals who use the Internet aged (5) years and over reached (79%), distributed by (85%) for males and (72%) for females.
    At the governorate level, the capital, Baghdad, ranked first (96%), followed by Basra Governorate (92.5%), Kirkuk Governorate (85%), and the lowest percentage was for Muthanna Governorate (62%).
    The results of the survey indicate “an increase in the percentage of families who have an Internet connection at home to (87%). At the environmental level, it was found that the percentage in cities reached (92%) compared to (83%) in the countryside.” Ended/25 hours
