The Finance Committee of the Iraqi Parliament confirmed, on Monday, that the federal government will send 700 billion dinars to the regional government no later than the end of this week to cover employee salaries.
Committee member Nermin Maarouf said in a press statement, “The amounts sent by the central government to the region in the form of loans to cover salaries will be transferred to Kurdistan’s bank account no later than the end of this week,” indicating that “the release and disbursement of the salaries of some central government employees for the current month will be delayed.” some days".
The agreements concluded between the two sides stipulate that the central government will send the regional government an amount of 700 billion dinars monthly in loans, for a period of only three months, to cover employees’ salaries, through the Rafidain and Al-Rasheed banks.
