{Local: Al-Furat News} The First Vice President of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, renewed, today, Tuesday, his call to address the housing issue for health and nursing personnel by accelerating the amendment of the (Staff) Law.

Al-Mandalawi stressed, according to a statement from his office, a copy of which {Al-Furat News} received, “the necessity of increasing attention to intermediate medical and nursing staff, who are the backbone of health institutions and the first line of defense for our health sector,” stressing “the importance of creating additional nursing colleges, opening departments with modern specializations, and including them.” With allocations for higher degrees on a par with their peers, in addition to expanding the postgraduate seats allocated to this important segment.”
The statement stated that: “Al-Mandalawi received Firas Al-Moussawi, the head of the Nursing Syndicate, and members of the union, in the presence of Ghaith Raad Shabaa, where he listened to the problems and demands of the nurses’ segment related to job placement, not being included in promotions like government sector employees, and not being included in the allocations for higher degrees granted like their peers among state employees, as well as limited study seats.” "
Al-Mandalawi expressed, “The House of Representatives is ready to approve the draft law on the 21st Amendment to Staff Law No. 25 of 1960 and include it in the business sessions as soon as it arrives from the government, which would lift the injustice suffered by large segments of government sector employees.”
He called for "the necessity of developing a comprehensive strategic plan for the file of postgraduate seats for the next academic season in coordination with the Parliamentary Higher Education and Scientific Research Committee, taking into account the allocation of seats in sufficient numbers for the segment of nurses due to the urgent need for their specializations."
