Shafaq News/ The Communications and Media Commission announced today, Friday, that Iraq won four positions within the committees of the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC23) held in the United Arab Emirates.

The authority said in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, “Iraq won the position of Vice Chairman of the Fifth Committee concerned with satellite issues and space frequencies, as the position was assigned to the technical assistant to the Chairman of the Media and Communications Authority, Engineer Aws Majeed Ghaleb.”
Iraq also won membership in three other committees: the first, third, and seventh study committees, which are permanent committees responsible for reviewing and studying reports, approving plans for distributing the frequency spectrum globally, and taking all necessary measures to regulate the use of radio frequencies.
It is noteworthy that the World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC) is held every three or four years to review and revise the radio regulations and international treaties that regulate the use of the radio-frequency spectrum and geostationary and non-geostationary satellite orbits.
