    Economy News - Baghdad

A high-level source reported, on Monday, a decrease in the daily freight rate for trucks loaded with petroleum derivatives through the Trebil border crossing with Jordan, west of Anbar.
The source said, “The number of trucks loaded with petroleum derivatives that entered Jordan through the Trebil port, west of Anbar, amounted to more than 70 trucks, an indication of a significant decline in the level of petroleum derivatives export operations to Jordan, without knowing the reasons for the sudden decline in export operations, despite the insurance.” All external and internal roads are open to truck traffic, up to the commercial exchange square.”
The source added, "Export operations of petroleum derivatives to Jordan resumed after a pause that lasted for approximately two months. Then export operations resumed, but at a very low pace and beyond expectations than it was previously, after the number of trucks reached 1,500 trucks per day without knowing the reasons."
He stated that "initial estimates, with the start of export operations, expected the number of trucks per day to reach 2,500 trucks, but this percentage has not reached since the start of export operations of petroleum derivatives to Jordan until now."
He stressed that "the security forces completely secured the road linking Baiji district to Salah al-Din Governorate, all the way to the Trebil border crossing with Jordan, and no security breach occurred."
