The title may seem tinged with some ambiguity and lack of clarity. What is meant by peripheral development? Here, the term closest to this concept may be spatial development, but this does not cover what the concept of the first term wants, except with a specific area, as the second means development along the way. The level of place - any place -, as for peripheral development, I mean the development of the outskirts of cities specifically, as these areas often suffer from accumulated neglect, thus making them repulsive to the population, at a time when city centers opened their doors to these people, and this matter naturally led to... The situation led to an annoying state of overcrowding in the cities, and the situation was not limited to the belts and edges, but the encroachment reached the countryside, and people there still continued their migration to the cities, which led to an increase in the urban population to about 70 percent, compared to the decline of the rural population, which decreased. Their percentage reached 30 percent, as many villages disappeared as a result of this continuous migration. With the continuation of the reasons behind this neglect and this migration, perhaps foremost among them, the scarcity of water, what is related to climate change, and the presence of temptations to employ in state institutions and security agencies, and this has led many to find it difficult to farm in the countryside and easy to employ in the cities!!, and here comes the question: Is it possible for the situation to be better than it was? Yes, it is possible... and certainly the issue is not as easy as we imagine, as we need giant projects to achieve peripheral development, and such projects are not limited to one side or the other, as we need to improve the level of housing, etc. Associated infrastructure and services, in the field of health, education, roads, water, sewage, electricity, and sports stadiums, as well as working strongly to support agriculture by various means, such as agricultural mechanization, improving the quality of seeds, and providing sufficient quantities of irrigation water, through the use of modern methods in agriculture. . There are important signs whose features are beginning to appear on the horizon, pointing to residential city projects, the first of which is Al-Jawahiri City, west of the capital, which is available for everything. There are many other similar cities that will appear successively in Baghdad and the rest of the governorates, and all of them will be on the outskirts of the cities, which will achieve... An important balance, demographically, developmentally, and services, between the center and the peripheries, and with regard to agriculture, it has also begun to witness increasing interest from the government, which has continued to provide a lot of support to farmers, which has encouraged them to gradually shift towards development and improvement. Their agricultural reality, and that the continuation of this support and the implementation of these projects will achieve many important development goals, whether in the centers or the peripheries.
