Today, Wednesday, the General Company for Foodstuff Trade, Salah al-Din Governorate Branch, explained the mechanism for controlling market prices, while noting that the food basket reduced prices by 25 percent.
The assistant director of the company’s branch, Diaa Al-Fahal, said in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency, followed by “Al-Iqtisad News”, that “The General Company for Foodstuff Trade, Salah al-Din Governorate Branch, is distributing the food basket items for the tenth meal, as the distribution began at the beginning of this year, and the distribution is to agents in Throughout the governorate, their number is 1,200 agents,” indicating that “the food basket items consist of (sugar, rice, edible oil, tomato paste, legumes, and lentils).”
He added, "The company branch also continues to distribute the twelfth social welfare share according to the statements that reach us," explaining that "the social welfare share materials included (scratch flour, as well as sugar, cooking oil, tea material, and adult milk)."
He continued, "Our branch also continues to go to the market at times with mobile teams to sell foodstuffs at a subsidized price, especially chicken and table eggs, in addition to cooking oil and Datwa flour, which is of very good quality. It also continues to sell competing foodstuffs in the marketing forum located in the branch." For the local market,” pointing out that “it is currently being sold at 25% less than the market price, according to the directives of the Minister of Commerce and the directives of the Director General of the General Company for Foodstuff Trade.”
