Al-Qaddu said in an interview with “Al-Ma’louma” that “National Security is one of the important agencies in the structuring of Iraq’s security institutions,” pointing out that “the Parliamentary Security Committee discussed extensively the draft law on the agency, and there are understandings to include it on the list of sessions of the House of Representatives to vote on it.”
He added, "Approving the draft law on the National Security Service will define its legal powers and give it space and flexibility in performing its duties," stressing that "the Parliamentary Security Committee seeks to resolve many legal pieces of legislation during the coming months in order to create a climate that enhances stability and gives greater flexibility in coordination among the relevant agencies." ".
He pointed out that "the House of Representatives is continuing, through its political forces, to decide on its options to nominate a person to head the House of Representatives in order to complete the legislation awaiting a vote in accordance with the Council's regulations."
The National Security Service was formed more than 15 years ago and is concerned with many vital files and plays an important role in dismantling terrorist and criminal cells.
