    Director of the Tobacco Control Division at the Ministry of Health, Abbas Jabbar, said that the law gives greater powers to executive agencies to hold violators of the anti-smoking law accountable, in addition to banning emerging tobacco products such as electronic cigarettes and other products, according to the government newspaper Al-Sabah.



    Jabbar added that the Division will meet with the Parliamentary Health and Environment Committee during the next week to discuss the draft law and defend the articles and paragraphs prepared by the Ministry.

    Jabbar pointed out that the National No Tobacco Day celebration will be held on the second of next February, which coincides with the anniversary of the House of Representatives’ vote on the Anti-Smoking Law No. 19 of 2012, noting that the celebration will be under the slogan “Tobacco is an unrestrained killer,” in reference to the need to restrict smoking.
