    [size=45]On Sunday, the Ministry of Commerce participated for the first time since 2004 in the Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, which is being held in the capital, Abu Dhabi.[/size]
    [size=45]Minister Atheer Al-Ghurairi said in a speech during his participation in the preparatory meeting of Arab trade and economic ministers within the Arab group for the thirteenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization: “Iraq is participating for the first time since 2004 in the Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization, which is held in the capital, Abu Dhabi.” Pointing to “the completion of the requirements for Iraq’s accession to the organization, which is the completion of the files of trade in goods and trade in services within the timetable for joining the global multilateral trading system.”[/size]
    [size=45]The minister pointed to “the desire and seriousness of the Iraqi government to establish balanced economic relations with all countries of the world at various levels and fields by improving the business and investment environment and making real reforms in laws and legislation.”[/size]
    [size=45]He thanked “the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for supporting the process of Iraq’s accession to the international organization through the visit of its permanent ambassador to the organization, Saqr Al-Muqbel, and his chairmanship of the working group for Iraq’s accession,” and regarding intra-trade and increasing trade exchange between Arab countries, Minister Al-Ghurairi noted “Iraq’s keenness on the importance of the presence of Arab countries.” In Iraq to restore its effective role in economic organizations.”[/size]

The capital, Abu Dhabi,” pointing to “the completion of the requirements for Iraq’s accession to the organization, which is the completion of the files of trade in goods and trade in services within the timetable for joining the global multilateral trading system.”

    The next step is some sort of formal ascension meeting/declaration. Somehow this also leads to the formal declaration adhering to IMF art VIII as well since you cannot have one without the other. Knowing also the WTO has a committee on exchange rate, it's all being tied up in a neat package with a decorative RV bow which must precede both.

    Baghdad / NINA / Today, Monday, in Abu Dhabi, the Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Al-Ghurairi, discussed with Pamela Cook-Hamilton, Executive Director of the International Trade Center ITC in Geneva, the formula for joint action, supporting Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization, and strengthening the capabilities of the administrative staff on the economic and commercial tracks.

    During the meeting, the Minister stressed the Iraqi government's desire to integrate into the global multilateral trading system to stimulate and revitalize the role of the Iraqi economy by supporting reforms and legislation to be consistent with the market system and enhancing the country's economic capabilities.

    Minister Al-Ghurairi pointed out that we in Iraq need to focus support in intensifying training and capacity building to create models from a generation of trained employees who are aware of the vision of the principles and concepts of the market economy to be qualified to lead the next stage in light of the government’s approach to this aspect.

    Al-Ghurairi continued by saying: We are happy to work with your team and the support provided to complete the files required for Iraq’s accession to the World Trade Organization, stressing the desire to benefit from the capabilities of the center and its training institute to train and create a diplomatic, commercial generation.

    For her part, the Director of the Trade Center expressed readiness to provide more support to Iraq to fulfill the requirements of the next stage in building and strengthening the capabilities of the new generation in accordance with market standards to achieve sustainable development goals and develop the institutional capabilities of the relevant ministries, in addition to strengthening the capabilities of the private sector and small and medium enterprises and supporting youth projects. And increase their skills, stressing the center’s commitment to Iraq in providing all the support and technical assistance it needs, along with the continuity of joint cooperation, in a way that serves the directions of the Ministry of Commerce in strengthening its work in formulating economic and trade policy. /End 8[/rtl]

    [rtl]Baghdad / NINA / The work of the thirteenth Ministerial Conference of the World Trade Organization (MC13) kicked off on Monday morning in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, with the participation of Iraq.

    A statement by the Ministry of Commerce stated, “Minister Al-Ghurairi heads the Iraqi delegation participating in the conference, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Center during the period from 26 to 29 February of this year, with the participation of delegations from 164 member states of the organization and 25 observer states in it, and a number of leaders, ministers and senior officials from all over the world.” the world".

    Al-Ghurairi stressed that "participation in the conference provides Iraq with the opportunity to learn about the experiences of member states and provide support to developing and least developed countries in the global multilateral economic system and the process of joining the World Trade Organization."

    Al-Ghurairi continued, "The conference comes in light of the pressing challenges facing the multilateral trading system, and we are aware of the importance of the role played by the World Trade Organization in stimulating economic growth and creating job opportunities, as well as achieving the global goals of the sustainable development plan."

    The minister pointed out that "the Iraqi government, represented by the Ministry of Commerce, has made great strides in the process of joining by following up and managing the accession files for Iraq to obtain membership in the organization and because accession represents an urgent priority that the government seeks to meet its requirements through implementing the provisions of the government program based on creating the basic base for attracting Foreign investments, carrying out the necessary legislative and economic reforms, combating corruption and encouraging competition.”/End 8[/rtl]
