Shafaq News/ The Iraqi government reported, on Thursday, that Lockheed Martin, which is responsible for manufacturing F16 aircraft, has expressed its readiness to implement the terms of contracts to supply aircraft to Iraq.

The statement added that Al-Sudani stressed the importance of the company’s commitment to opening military aircraft maintenance centers and providing spare materials for them inside Iraq. Given the importance of this matter regarding the qualification of Iraqi aircraft to maintain the security of the country.
For his part, Taiclet expressed his understanding and readiness to respond to the requests of the Iraqi government regarding the implementation of the terms of contracts for the supply of aircraft to Iraq, and the provision of all related requirements.
Iraqi government spokesman Bassem Al-Awadi recently revealed that Iraq had signed a deal in the armaments sector to purchase 41 aircraft after Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani met with US President Joe Biden at the White House.
Al-Awadi said in an interview with CNBC Arabic, that there will be a flexible plan to pay the price of some of these aircraft, while others are a gift provided by the United States of America.
The Iraqi government spokesman confirmed that the aircraft will be received within a few months, and a special production line will be opened for Iraq.
