{Politics: Al-Furat News} The House of Representatives is awaiting six controversial laws to be voted on during the next legislative term.
Member of the House of Representatives, Dhia al-Hindi, said in a press statement, “The first session of Parliament during the next legislative term will witness the selection of a Speaker of the House of Representatives, and it is likely that the position will be given to the candidate Salem Al-Issawi, “as he is the most acceptable,” as he put it.
Al-Hindi added, “There is a parliamentary agreement to pass six important and controversial laws during the next legislative term, which are {Intelligence, Protection of Diversity, the Iraqi Minority Rights Law, Freedom of Expression, Information Crimes, and the Right to Access to Information Law}.”
Al-Hindi explained that “the divisions that occurred in The Taqaddum Party has created a kind of breakthrough in resolving this position within the Sunni component,” indicating that “changing the bylaws of Parliament will not happen because of disagreements in the Presidency, despite the intention to change it, but for other reasons and some other important paragraphs.”

Al-Hindi ruled out holding early elections, pointing out that the current parliamentary session will complete its full term.
