    Baghdad Today - Nineveh
Nineveh Provincial Council member Muhammad Haris confirmed today, Friday (July 19, 2024), that the council is determined to make changes at the level of department directors in the province.
In an interview with Baghdad Today, Haris said, "The Nineveh Provincial Council is determined to make a broad change in Nineveh that includes department directors as well as heads of administrative units, and we will not be affected by any objections."
He added, "Any bloc or member of the Nineveh Provincial Council has the right to legally object, but the current objections are only political, so we will insist on making a comprehensive and broad change, because Nineveh suffers from clear negligence and the citizen suffers in terms of services and administration, and change is necessary for the purpose of providing services to citizens and improving the conditions of the province."
Yesterday, Thursday, an informed source revealed that there is a trend in the Nineveh Provincial Council to dismiss Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil from his position.
The source said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "the Nineveh Future Bloc expressed its strong objection to the failure of Governor Abdul Qader Al-Dakhil to sign the letter to change the heads of the administrative units, which the council had previously voted on."
He added, "The governor has exceeded the legal period specified for him, which is 15 days, and therefore there is a tendency to dismiss him from his position."
Nineveh Provincial Council is holding a new meeting today, Thursday, to discuss the situation in the province, amid the continued boycott of its people by the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Nineveh blocs.
It is worth noting that the Nineveh Provincial Council voted on July 2, 2024, to dismiss and replace all the governors in the province.
Baghdad Today correspondent reported that "Nineveh Provincial Council voted to dismiss all district governors and district directors in the province."
He added, "Nineveh Provincial Council elected Sayedo Al-Ahmadi as the mayor of Sinjar district, voted for Raad Nasser as the mayor of Tel Keppe district, voted for Khalil Habash as the mayor of Tal Afar district, and Shaalan Al-Ghalab Al-Jarba as the mayor of Al-Baaj district, in addition to voting for Fawaz Mishaan Al-Shalal as the director of Rabia district ."
