    [size=45]The Presidency of the Republic requested the General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers to issue a special pardon for the owner of the Bank of the North, who is accused of embezzling more than 180 billion dinars.[/size]
    [size=45]The text of the document issued by the presidency stated that “based on the request addressed to the President of the Republic by the convict (Nawzad Daoud Fattah), in which he seeks to include him in the special pardon.”[/size]
    [size=45]She added, "After studying the request and the attached rulings, which were approved by the Court of Cassation, we kindly request that you present the matter to the Prime Minister to include the above-mentioned convict in the special pardon recommendation based on the provisions of Article 73, first, of the Constitution."[/size]
    [size=45]The document justified its request for “the complainant to drop the complaint, to reduce prison overcrowding, and for the humanitarian case of his suffering from cancer, in addition to his age, which is over 65 years.”[/size]
