Calls for the employment of specialized tourism staff

The branch of the Iraqi Tourism Syndicate in Najaf called for employing specialized tourism staff in the province, as it has an impact on developing the tourism reality there.
The branch head, Amir Al-Qazwini, told Al-Sabah: The province has more than 2,000 tourism graduates, between colleges, institutes and middle schools, but most of them do not find job opportunities in tourism facilities in Najaf, which number 400 hotels, 245 of which are officially licensed. It also includes 59 restaurants, 81 tourism companies, 37 cafes and 26 event halls, but none of them employ specialists in the tourism field to operate them.
He called for the need for cooperation between the syndicate and the Tourism Authority in this field, as well as not allowing the opening of a tourism company unless its manager holds an academic degree in tourism, noting at the same time that the authority cannot force owners of tourism facilities to employ specialized workers.
