Baghdad Council: Official correspondence to disburse allowances to those entitled to land

The Baghdad local government announced that it is in the process of approaching the higher authorities to issue legislation under which the government will allocate treasury bonds to guarantee the collection of amounts to distribute cash allowances among 60,000 people entitled to land within the Martyrs Foundation.
Baghdad Council member Riyadh Al-Aqabi told Al-Sabah: The council has prepared a plan under which land will be obtained for Baghdad citizens from the relevant sectoral authorities or a cash allowance will be disbursed if it is not available, indicating that the plan, in its first phase, includes approaching the Martyrs Foundation to allocate land or housing units, or cash allowances to those entitled to it in the amount of 50 million dinars.
He explained that the Martyrs Foundation complains of the lack of financial allocations allocated to it in addition to the lack of land in Baghdad, revealing that there are 60,000 people entitled to the cash allowance in the country, with Baghdad constituting the largest percentage of them, but they have not yet obtained it.
Al-Aqabi revealed that the Baghdad Council is about to approach the House of Representatives or the ministers to issue legislation or a law, according to which the federal government will allocate treasury bonds to ensure that they receive financial amounts. He pointed out in the same context that there are 13 batches of those entitled to the cash allowance in Baghdad, registered with the institution, but they have not received any dues so far, noting that the distribution is not done in one payment, but rather in the form of installments amounting to ten million dinars for each beneficiary.
