    Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen Al-Mandalawi stressed on Wednesday, when receiving the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the accompanying ministerial delegation, that the memoranda of understanding signed between the two governments will contribute to advancing the wheel of development and opening broader horizons for partnership between the two countries.[/size]
    [size=45]The media office of the Speaker of Parliament said in a statement that "Acting Speaker of Parliament Mohsen Al-Mandalawi received at his residence this evening, Wednesday, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, and the accompanying ministerial delegation, in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, a number of heads of parliamentary blocs, and gentlemen representatives and ministers."[/size]
    [size=45]According to the statement, Al-Mandlawi stressed “the depth of the relationship that links the two neighboring countries and peoples, and the necessity of benefiting from it in strengthening cooperation in all fields in a way that achieves the common interests of the two countries.”[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Mandlawi pointed out that “the memoranda of understanding signed between the two governments in various aspects, especially those related to the economy, trade, agriculture, services, communications, youth, sports, religious tourism, and others, will contribute to advancing the wheel of development and growth and opening broader horizons for partnership between Iraq and Iran.”[/size]
    [size=45]The media office pointed out in its statement that “during the expanded meeting, there was agreement on the necessity of activating strategic plans and bilateral agreements, especially security and economic ones, and those related to controlling the common borders and preventing all forms of smuggling, while the two sides renewed their condemnation of the Zionist genocide crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and recalled the positions of the two countries regarding supporting the Palestinian right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.”[/size]
    [size=45]Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived in the capital, Baghdad, on Wednesday morning, in response to an official invitation extended to him by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani.[/size]
    [size=45]This is Pezeshkian's first foreign visit since assuming the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Iran.[/size]
    [size=45]Mahmoudian stated, “The gap and differences do not affect our relations and friendship. As the president said today, relations between Iran and the Kurdistan Region are good and we seek to strengthen them better.”[/size]
    [size=45]Bazishkian met with Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, President of the Republic Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives Mohsen al-Mandalawi, and Chief Justice of the Supreme Judicial Council Judge Faiq Zidane.[/size]
    [size=45]Pezeshkian also heads to the Iranian embassy to attend two meetings, one with Iranian merchants and the other with the Iranian community residing in Iraq.[/size]
    [size=45]This evening, the Iranian President will be a guest at the dinner table of the “State Administration” coalition, which consists of most of the political blocs represented in the Iraqi parliament.[/size]
    [size=45]Tomorrow, Thursday, Bazeshkian will head to the cities of Najaf and Karbala, then to Basra in the far south of Iraq, and then to Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.[/size]
