Al-Sudani: Amending the Drug Law raises the level of combating it

In continuation of the government's approach to developing laws related to combating drugs, the Council of Ministers approved yesterday, Tuesday, the draft law amending the first law on narcotics and psychotropic substances and referring it to the House of Representatives.
Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, who chaired the session, stressed "the need for this amendment, which includes raising the level of the Department of Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances, so that it can confront this dangerous scourge," referring to "the government's tireless efforts in this regard, and supporting its relevant agencies in Baghdad and the governorates, in a manner commensurate with the size of this problem that threatens all societies."
In the context of supporting and employing different categories, the Council of Ministers approved the rental of the marketing complexes (kiosks) mentioned in Cabinet Resolution (340 of 2019) in Baghdad and all governorates, to (the unemployed registered in the database of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, who are not covered by the care amount, and those covered by grants, provided that the grants are cut off from them, and those covered by the Riyada Initiative) for an appropriate fee according to a legal mechanism and controls set by the Ministry of Labor.
