After the {Sabah} report... a campaign to deport {illegal} workers

A few days after Al-Sabah published a report on the number of illegal foreign workers and their danger to the national economy, the Ministry of Labor announced its intention, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, to launch an intensive inspection campaign to arrest the illegal
ones and deport them from the country. The ministry’s spokesman, Najm Al-Aqabi, told Al-Sabah that “the ministry will soon launch, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior, intensive inspection campaigns to arrest the illegal foreign workers and deport them from the country,” stressing “the clear evasion of these workers, in addition to company owners, who will be subject to legal measures and large fines.”
He considered “correcting their legal status important to ensure that the illegal ones do not leak into the labor market and compete with local workers.”
