    Economy News - Baghdad
The National Investment Commission revealed, on Monday, that it will hold an upcoming meeting with the International Finance Corporation to present its projects. While it confirmed its intensive efforts to obtain financing from international banks for sustainable environmental projects, including the “Blue Ammonia” project, it indicated that a new draft of the climate investment map may be launched within the next two months, noting that it is currently working on 3 projects related to the environment.
The head of the commission, Haider Makiya, said in a statement reported by the official news agency, and reviewed by "Al-Eqtisad News", that "the National Investment Commission is cooperating with the International Finance Corporation and the private sector to discuss financing environmentally friendly projects."

He added that "the commission will soon hold a meeting with the International Finance Corporation to present a group of projects related to climate change and others, with the aim of obtaining financing for their implementation."

Makiya continued, "the commission is currently working on several environmental projects, such as the (blue ammonia) project, which is the first environmental project of its kind in Iraq, in addition to the sustainable forests project that needs financing, and the waste treatment project to convert it into energy," noting that "these projects require financing and support from international institutions."

He stressed that "the commission is also working on preparing a climate investment map, and the final draft may be launched within the next two months."

He added that "Iraq adopted the establishment of the Green Bank for Sustainable Development project last year, which specializes in environmentally friendly projects, and will be concerned with all projects that affect Iraq," stressing that "the commission is working hard to obtain the necessary financing from international banks."
