    Baghdad/Al-Masala: The Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Grand Faw Port Project and the Development Road will achieve great economic growth and gains for Iraq and the region.
    Annan said, "We visited the Grand Faw Port project during our visit to Basra Governorate, which is considered the artery and heart of the Iraqi economy," indicating that "the Grand Faw Port project and the development road will achieve great economic development and gains for Iraq and the region."
    He added, "This visit with a large delegation from Ankara shows the extent of the importance we attach to this project," explaining that "his country will support this project, which is considered a major development project, and all other projects that provide development and reconstruction to Iraq."
    He stressed that "the development method project is an Iraqi project, and through it Iraq seeks to reach all parts of the world."
    He pointed out that "there are preparatory works for this project that extends inside Turkish territory," indicating that "after completing the work of determining the path and the work of the main connection point to the Turkish side, we will begin the actual work on Turkish territory."
    He stressed that "all these issues are being discussed at a high level between the two countries."
    Earlier today, the Ministry of Transport announced that a meeting would be held in Basra for representatives of the countries that signed the Quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding on the Development Road, headed by Iraq and with membership from Turkey, the UAE and Qatar, noting that the economic feasibility study of the project would be discussed and the important paths for proceeding with its implementation would be determined.
