French President Hollande declares a state of emergency, closes borders

French President Francois Hollande delivered a brief address Friday night in response to the multiple deadly attacks across Paris. Hollande declared a state of emergency and closed the country's borders. Meanwhile, military units have been deployed to Paris.
Though visibly shaken, Hollande asked for France to remain calm. "France needs to be strong. Terrorists want us to be scared," he said. "In the face of terror we must be united." Lauren Hansen
