    Cruz Said Trump Should Denounce KKK over Endorsement, but Embraces Endorsement from Two Men Who are Part of a Theological Cult





    Sometimes the hypocrisy is just so glaring that it demands you comment on it. In February, David Duke encouraged his supporters to volunteer and vote for Donald Trump. This drew the wrath of all sorts of political pundits, as well as GOP presidential candidates, including constitutionally ineligible Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX). However, in recent days, we have not heard the Texas senator denounce two prominent Mormons, whose church historically has been racist against blacks and also a theological cult that masquerades as though it is "Christianity." These two men are two-time loser, liberal and establishment stooge Mitt Romney and the other is Glenn Beck.

    Why is this important? First, recognize that the LDS church's non-prophet Brigham Young clearly engaged in racial discrimination in the church, but later the church only changed that due to cultural pressures that were brought to bear on them. Second, and most important, it is vital that a man that claims to be a believer make sure that everyone understands that Mormons are not Christian. They deny that Jesus Christ is God (the second member of the Trinity), but rather claims He is a created being, the spirit brother of Lucifer. Not only does this make them similar to the heretic Arius in their view of who Jesus Christ is, but it also makes them anti-christs, as defined by the apostle John (1 Jn. 2:18, 22; 4:3; 2 Jn 1:7; cf. John 1:1, 3).

    I bring this up because of recent statements by Glenn Beck. On Saturday, Beck spoke at a Utah rally for Senators Ted Cruz and Mike Lee (R-UT). Take a listen to what he said.



    "I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints," he explained. "What attracted me was not only the truth of the message, but also the people like President Lee and President Benson who knew exactly who we were – knew who we were as a country," Beck said.

    "I joined many times," Beck added. "What held me through was the prophecy that the Constitution will hang by a thread, and this People would remember what our Founders did. It is our responsibility to stand for the Constitution."

    The "prophecy" that Beck is referring to is one was allegedly made by Mormon founder Joseph Smith in 1843, but which the LDS church has officially rejected because it is based on accounts that "have not been substantiated by historical research and is not embraced as Church doctrine." It's known as the White Horse prophecy.

    Now, consider that when he said this, Ted Cruz, a man that claims to be a biblical Christian stood, along with others, and applauded Beck's statement. He didn't call him out. Didn't renounce Joseph Smith as a false prophet or Beck as a false teacher. He applauded him!

    According to the "prophecy" from Smith to Mormons who followed him:

    "You will go to the Rocky Mountains and you will be a great and mighty people established there, which I will call the White Horse of peace and safety… You will see the Constitution of the United States almost destroyed. It will hang like a thread as fine as a silk fiber."


    So, Beck doesn't even hold to his own LDS official statements, but rather has believed this "prophecy" for quite a while. On Saturday, he openly expressed this to the crowd in attendance and Ted Cruz never denounced one word.


    "I want to tell you this," said Beck. "Another thing I shouldn't say, but I'm going to. I believe in the Book of Mormon. I don't know about you guys. But I believe in the Book of Mormon. And that was written for a time to tell people what it would look like when it was all coming undone — so His People, who were called by His name, could humble themselves and He would heal our land. I believe in that. The question is: do you believe in that? Prepare for a time of miracles."


    He was openly proselytizing those in attendance, including Ted Cruz. Yet, Cruz said nothing to correct the aberrant and heretical views of Beck or of Mormonism. No, Mr. Beck I don't believe a word of the Book of Mormon; and yes, I have read it. It was written by a deceiver (Deuteronomy 13) and an open unrepentant adulterer, among many other things.


    This White Horse prophecy was also put forward when Mitt Romney was looking to obtain the Oval Office.


    So, in the interest of being consistent, I call on Senator Ted Cruz to renounce the open, unbiblical enticing of people to a theological cult that does not have as their founder the God of the Bible, but rather an unrepentant false prophet named Joseph Smith. I would call on Ted Cruz to hold up the Law of God and call those who have been deceived by Mormonism to repentance and faith in the Jesus Christ of the Old and New Testaments. However, knowing that Cruz's father teaches some of the outright ridiculous and heretical things he does, which fall along similar lines to what Beck promoted, without the Mormon flavor, I won't hold my breath that he would actually call Mormons to repent of what they are engaged in.

    Frankly, a person wins the race by getting votes, no matter who they come from. However, if you're going to be pointing your finger at one guy for accepting votes for open racists and not denouncing their ideology, don't you think it's a little hypocritical when the ideology of two of your biggest supporters strikes at the very person you claim is the only Savior of sinners?
