    The agent said the Ministry of Planning, Maher Johan, in the beginning of the meeting, said that "the economic crisis and engage the country in a military campaign against terrorism, require urged joint paced to improve cooperation at the local and central levels in planning and developing strategies for the overall development," stressing "the urgent need for continued EU support European and United Nations Development Programme for Iraq. "

    Reported UNAMI, in its statement, that "the United Nations Human Settlements Programme, contributes to this effort across the face of the challenges of urban development."
    He said program director in Iraq, Irfan Ali, said that "the program will be made in the short term, significant efforts jointly with the United Nations Development Programme, to evaluate the damage in some of the liberated areas."
    Ali added, that "the work regarding the strategic level will be the development of a national strategy and the strategy of the provincial urban areas, as well as conducting experiments on spatial planning and financing of municipal projects, where he developed a platform especially for the collection of information relating to Balomcnh, share and discuss and control."
    The local area development program is one of UNDP projects in Iraq, and aims to support the 12 Iraqi provinces to develop planning and implementation capacity across all sectors, in addition to strengthening the application of budgets and service delivery, and improve cooperation between Alrkz and the provinces, and increase the participation of communities in local development processes.
