    Baghdad / Al-Mawrid News
Today, Friday, the European Union called on the Iraqi parties to adopt the utmost restraint, and while affirming its support for the reform process, it condemned the Iranian bombing in the Kurdistan region.
"It is deeply concerned about the recent political and security escalation in the country and believes that violence is never a solution and should not be allowed to undermine the democratic process," the union said in a statement.
The Union called on all parties to condemn acts of violence, exercise maximum restraint and work to stop the escalation and enter into a constructive dialogue in good faith and within the constitutional framework, with the desires and interests of the Iraqi people first, according to the statement.
He stressed that "in these circumstances, and as Iraq marks three years after the October protest movement and almost a year after the early elections in October 2021, the European Union reiterates its determination to continue to support the path of reforms in Iraq, its stability and sovereignty."
The EU condemned the Iranian bombardment in the Kurdistan region, and noted that "these attacks are a violation of Iraq's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The European Union reiterates its full solidarity with the Iraqi people, the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government."
