Iraq and the European Union signed two agreements worth more than 60 million euros to restore stability in the liberated areas.
The two projects aimed at addressing humanitarian challenges, security, stability and reconciliation are being financed by the European Union, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Japan, Estonia and the United Kingdom, the Minister of Planning Salman Jumaili said in press statements.
Al-Jumaili added that the first project is intended to help restore basic services and repair public infrastructure. The other project will be dedicated to continuing to facilitate the cleaning of the contaminated areas through the UN mine action team and in coordination with the Iraqi government. Allowing the safe and voluntary return of more than three million displaced persons.
Jumaili pointed out that the Iraqi government will provide all necessary support to facilitate the implementation of these projects, hoping to continue cooperation and coordination in all areas of technical and humanitarian.
