Allaq stated to IraqiNews.com “The issue of forming a committee to organize the affairs related to such pilgrimages needs more consideration but it is important,” noting that “When the parliament resumes its session, we will call the Committee to discuss this issue and we will consider it as a suggestion presented by IraqiNews.com.”
“Iraq witness several pilgrimages where millions of pilgrims gather in certain religious occasions so will work on activating such suggestion,” he concluded.
Baghdad witnessed a gathering of about 7 million pilgrims from Iraq and other countries to commemorate the anniversary of Imam Kadhum Martyrdom.

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Independent MP, Safiya al-Siheil, pointed out “The initiative of the head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, privileged the calm atmospheres rather than the escalated tensions.
She stated to IraqiNews.com “Hakim’s initiative is valuable since it is the first meeting among the political leaders under the current hard situation.”
“The meeting is reflected positively on the conditions of the country but we are waiting for the second step to discuss the disputes to solve them according to the constitution as Hakim mentioned in his speech,” she added.
She urged “The political leaders to activate the initiative and to exploit the results of the first meeting that was successful.”
She also called “To make use of the calm situation that resulted from the meeting to solve all the pending issues through the dialogues and to avoid excluding the others, praising Hakim’s concerns with the issues related to the Iraqi women.”
