Spanish police announced the names of a number of suspected perpetrators of the Barcelona and Camperless attacks. The three suspects killed by the security forces in Camberles were Moroccans Moussa Okebir (17 years old), Said Alaa (18) and Mohammed Hishami (24).
Police said they were still searching for a fourth suspect, Younes Abu Yaqub, aged 22, according to.
Investigators suspect that Abu Yaqoub, a Moroccan citizen who lived in the town of Ribol, was the executor of the van derby on Thursday night in Barcelona.
Abu Yaqub is the only suspect who has not been arrested or killed, among the suspects in the Barcelona and Camberless attacks, while two other individuals suspected of links to the attacks have yet to be identified.
Police said five people were shot dead, hours after a crowd of passers-by raced through a speeding van in Barcelona, killing 13 people.
Spanish media reported that Abu Yacoub was the man who drove a van and was trampled by people in Las Ramblas, Barcelona, before fleeing. A fifth suspect then led the car and headed for the infantry in the Camberlies area on Thursday night.
The terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks, and attributed the attacks to the fact that Spain is a member of the international coalition led by Washington against a fanatical extremist.
Police believe the suspects were preparing for horrific attacks using gas cylinders, but an explosion at the house where they were preparing to attack hastened their execution.
Police also arrested four people suspected of involvement in the attacks, three of them Moroccans and one Spanish from Melilla.
The suspects are between the ages of 21 and 34 and have never been involved in terrorist activities. The authorities have issued arrest warrants for four others suspected of being involved in the attacks.
Idris Okbir, who used his identity card to rent the van, said his brother Moussa had stolen his identification document, and Idris handed himself over after the police circulated his picture. Sf
