UN: Israeli settlements is undermining the two-state solution Qanony..oahdd

Stephane Dujarric , a spokesman for the Secretary - General of the United Nations announced that the latter was disappointed and expresses dismay at Israel 's decision to build a new settlement in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Dujarric said in a statement, said: 'United Nations Secretary General Antonio Jotirih has repeatedly stressed that there is no alternative plan for Palestinians and Israelis to live together in peace and security ... denounces the Secretary - General to all unilateral acts, such as the current resolution, which would threaten peace and undermine the solution the two countries'.

The statement pointed out that the 'settlement activities are illegal according to international law and an obstacle to peace, and in the same context, the representative of Sweden in the Security Council, Olof Skoj said that the 15 - member must respond to the latest statement from Israel on settlements'.

He added Olof: 'urgency of the situation and the deterioration on the ground might call for action by the Security Council , although we know it is not easy to find a consensus on this matter. "

The UN Security Council passed a resolution last December calling on Israel to halt settlement construction on the occupied Palestinian territories.
