The Ministry of Transport announced on Saturday that it will begin laying the foundation stone for the international airport Kut, pointing to the development of a plan to fly the airport to three Iraqi provinces.
The ministry said in a statement received by Mawazine News that it will "set the foundation stone for Kut International Airport today, in the presence of Governor Wasit and the President and members of the provincial council," pointing out that "the airport will be equipped with the highest equipment in the halls and lounges for passengers, "He said.
The statement added that "laying the foundation stone for the international airport in the province of Wasit was an unprecedented cooperation between the ministries of transport and defense, as well as the support and cooperation of the governor of Wasit Malik Khalaf valley, and the Council of Wasit province," noting that "the ministry to build and equip modern halls and sophisticated specifications to receive Travelers to and from Wasit province, and as appropriate to the history of the province and its residents and visitors. "
