    Economy News - Baghdad
[rtl]The Kurdistan Region Petroleum Industry Association (APICOR) announced its approval of the content of the region’s Council of Ministers meeting regarding the agreement between oil companies and SOMO.[/rtl]
[rtl]Apicor said in a post on the X platform: We agree on what was stated in the statement of the last meeting of the Kurdistan Region Council of Ministers, regarding considering the direct agreement between oil companies and SOMO the best option for marketing Kurdistan oil.[/rtl]
[rtl]She added: The agreement with SOMO must guarantee the shares of oil companies, either through advance payment or depositing their shares in a bank account, or receiving their shares from the Turkish port of Ceyhan.[/rtl]
[rtl]Earlier, the Kurdistan Region Petroleum Industry Association (APICOR) confirmed that its member companies are ready to resume Kurdistan oil production, provided that agreements are reached that provide for ensuring payment for previous and future exports, direct payment, and maintaining commercial conditions.[/rtl]
[rtl]She said: If such agreements require amendments to existing contracts, the association’s member companies are willing to consider this if it is agreed upon between the two governments (federal and regional) and individual international oil companies.[/rtl]
[rtl]At a time, the association's spokesman, Miles Caggins, confirmed that APICOR member companies "believe that the tripartite talks between the Iraqi government, the Kurdistan Regional Government, and international oil companies are the best way to find solutions that lead to the resumption of exports through the Iraqi-Turkish oil pipeline."[/rtl]
