    08/24/13 - BAGHDAD - Awan

    Denied a member of the Commission on Security and Defense parliamentary Qassim al-Araji, the rumors of rumors of an agreement for the establishment of a U.S. military base for training in Iraq.

    Araji told "Awan", "It is not true what some of the media of the existence of a secret agreement between Iraq and the United States to establish a military base in the country."

    He added that "Iraq was able to remove U.S. troops from the country and the return of these forces under any circumstances, Iraq is an independent country and enjoys full sovereignty, and what has been talked about recently by some is only confuse public opinion and very far from reality."

    He said the "agreements between the two countries, mostly cultural and economic agreements include trade and industry sectors within the Strategic Framework Agreement."
