The Kremlin criticizes the contradiction within the White House

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the sanctions imposed by the White House against Russia showed a contradiction within the administration.
In an interview, the Kremlin said that the Kremlin has not yet commented on the president's personal position. "It is certainly important what the American president thinks about this, how he looks at the current situation and the prospects for bilateral relations," he said.
The Kremlin spokesman said it was not programmed to hold contacts between Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump in the near future.
A source at the Russian Foreign Ministry said earlier that Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is expected to meet with his US counterpart Rex Tilerson in the Philippine capital of Manila over the weekend on the sidelines of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) forum.
Moscow has confirmed the illegality of US sanctions against it, describing it as blackmail aimed at restricting trade cooperation between Russia and Europe.
