    A retired US military officer said on Wednesday his country's army could crush North Korea and settle it on the ground within 15 minutes if Pyongyang launched a nuclear attack against the United States.

    US ballistic missiles can launch at any time and have the ability to carry nuclear bombs, the closest US nuclear point from North Korea on the island of Guam, in the Pacific Ocean, according to Business Insider.

    Tom McInerney suggests setting up an international NATO-style body to deal with imminent threats. He said the body could include the United States, South Korea, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines and Thailand.

    The former military said that the creation of a similar international body to curb the expansion of China in the Asian region, it does not stop at North Korea, he said.

    North Korea has set a new US target by announcing a strike on the strategic island of Guam with medium-range ballistic missiles to place another US territory in the crossfire.

    Talks between Pyongyang and Washington have continued for weeks, with threats and threats from both sides but without real moves, with the exception of two recent North Korean missile tests.
