Philippine police have killed at least 13 drug traffickers in the midst of the war, which President Rodrigo Duterti is waging against drug and crime gangs in his country, witnesses said .
Earlier this week, police killed 67 suspects and arrested more than 200 others in and around Manila as part of efforts to curb drugs and crime in the streets of the Philippines, official sources and campaigners said.
Linyi Rubredo, the opposition vice president of the Philippines , has recently been criticized by Dutarti for "killing thousands of Filipinos and warning of the repercussions of international resentment over Duterti's policies and practices."
"If we can liquidate 32 criminals a day, we may be able to reduce the crime that is weakening the country," he said, reiterating his support for the fight against drugs and crime.
In an interview yesterday, Duterti pledged to reward police officers who continue to eliminate and promote criminals.
