Iranian President Hassan Rowhani said on Monday that Iran would remain committed to the nuclear deal as long as it could achieve its interests.
"The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has played a positive and constructive role in the implementation and maintenance of the nuclear agreement," Rohani said during his meeting in Tehran with IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, adding that cooperation between Iran and the IAEA was "full and interesting."
"We have the will for long-term cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) within the framework of international provisions and laws and hope on the basis of full Iranian cooperation over the years," he said. That the IAEA should announce as soon as possible the final outcome based on the peacefulness of Iran's nuclear program. "
"Iran expects the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to put the scientific, agricultural, security and medical capabilities of the IAEA in the hands of the sponsors and the NPT," he said.
"As we have stated previously, the Islamic Republic will not be the country that comes out of the nuclear agreement first and we will remain committed to the nuclear agreement as long as we can benefit from the interests enshrined in this agreement," he said.
"We should not allow exposure to the nuclear agreement as an important achievement, and through broad cooperation we must maintain this important international document," he said.
"The US actions are not conducive to the security and stability of the region," he said. "Combating terrorism is an important goal in the region and the people of the region regard stability and security as crucial to them."
For his part, the Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that the nuclear agreement was a very good one. "On the basis of joint efforts, we can confirm that Iran is committed to its commitments to the nuclear agreement and international provisions," he said.
He added: "Most of the world powers support the atmosphere resulting from the nuclear agreement, and the implementation of commitments and the commitment of all parties to the nuclear agreement has a vital role in the stability and future of this agreement."
