    BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
The US Treasury Department has announced that US and US companies will be banned from dealing with Russian companies listed on sanctions lists in various fields, including energy projects, from January 29.
"Individuals in the United States are prohibited from supplying, exporting or re-exporting, both direct and indirect, and providing research and production technologies within Arctic oceanographic and research projects, oil and shale gas projects, without a special license from the United States. Office of Foreign Assets Control ".
The ban deals with all Russian individuals and institutions listed on US sanctions lists and applies the new system to all projects launched from January 29, 2018.
"We will work with our allies and partners on the issue of implementing sanctions in order to force the Russian government to pay for its actions and avoid the negative impact on others," the State Department said in a statement.
The aim of the sanctions was to "urge" Russia to abide by the Minsk agreements on the Ukrainian settlement and withdraw troops from the Crimea and stop what the US Department described as "illegal electronic activity."
