The US Justice Department confirmed on Tuesday that a federal jury convicted a former transport police officer in Alexandria, Virginia, of trying to provide material support to a terrorist organization.
"The 38-year-old US officer, Nicholas Young, may face up to 60 years in prison and will be sentenced on Feb. 23," Sky News quoted a ministry statement as saying.
The ministry has accused Young of trying to help the terrorist organization last July buy and send gift card codes, which he hoped would help the terrorist group communicate safely with potential recruits. Ending / 25 z
