WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The US Senate on Wednesday approved the biggest amendment to the tax code in more than three decades in the United States.
President Donald Trump is likely to ratify legislation to become law later in the day. The adoption of the amendment plan is the first legislative victory for Trump.
Critics of the amendments see it as a grant to the wealthy and will widen the budget deficit. But Republicans, who control Congress, say tax cuts for small businesses and people can spur economic growth.
The House of Representatives saw the opposition of 12 Republican deputies and all the Democrats on the bill, which was approved by 227 votes to 203 votes. Ending / 25
