    Follow-up / Sky Press:

Three members of the Iranian National Intelligence and Security Service (SAFAC) were killed during clashes in northwestern Iran.

A statement issued by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said that three members of the intelligence service were killed during clashes with "opponents of the Iranian revolution" in the city of Piranshahr, in the province of western Azerbaijan.

Iranian officials call the title "anti-revolution" on some armed groups on the western border of the country.

Since last Thursday, Iran has been witnessing demonstrations in the cities of Mashhad and Kashmir (northeast), and later spread to include different areas, including the capital, Tehran.

During the demonstrations, security forces killed at least 24 civilians and arrested more than 1,000 protesters, according to official data and local media.

Earlier on Wednesday, Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of the Revolutionary Guard, ended what he called "sedition".

"Today is the end of the sedition," Jafari said in a speech on state television. "The demonstrations, which began last Thursday for economic reasons, have since turned into protests against the government."
