"All Arab and Islamic countries will recognize Israel and establish relations with it once a lasting solution to the conflict with the Palestinians is reached," said Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir.

Al-Jubeir said in an interview with a French television station that 55 countries (Arab and Islamic) had decided to do so at the recent Bahrain summit.

He added that Riyadh opposed the declaration of US President Donald Trump on the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of "Israel", because it is contrary to the principle of not determine the final status of the Holy City before reaching a permanent agreement.

The Saudi minister stressed the need to be East Jerusalem as the capital of the Palestinian state, saying that "the two-state solution is the best."

"There are common interests between Saudi Arabia and Israel, but because of the lack of relations between the two countries, we can not talk about a US-Saudi-Egyptian-Israeli axis in the face of Iran," al-Jubair said.

Al-Jubeir is currently in Paris to prepare for the visit of Saudi Crown Prince Prince Mohammed bin Salman to France at the end of next month.
