[ltr]Yesterday, the Federal Court ruled that the parliamentary seats of the Yazidi component should be proportional to the number of its members in the elections scheduled for next May.
This decision would eliminate the Yazidi component and increase the number of its representatives in parliament.
"The Federal Supreme Court issued a ruling on (11/2010) on the occasion of a lawsuit concerning the seats of the Yazidi component in the House of Representatives," Iyad al-Samuk, spokesman of the court, said in a statement obtained (the extent).
Al-Samok added, "The ruling ensures that the Yazidi component deserves a number of parliamentary seats commensurate with the number of its souls in the elections of the Council of Representatives, according to official statistics adopted based on the provisions of Article (49 / I) of the Constitution, which stipulates that the House of Representatives consists of a number of members One seat per hundred thousand people. "
