BAGHDAD - The UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said on Tuesday it would request $ 500 million to cover the cost of its programs in Iraq.
"The United Nations will ask the donor countries at the donors' conference in Kuwait in support of its programs in Iraq by 500 million dollars," Fadhil al-Zoubi, the representative of the organization in Iraq, told Anatolia.
Zuabi added that "the support that the international organization will call for is to rebuild the infrastructure of agricultural projects in the liberated areas of Daqash, as well as support the education and health sectors."
He pointed out that "the mechanism of disbursement of these amounts will be through the United Nations."
It is scheduled to participate 70 countries in the International Conference for the reconstruction of Iraq, which is hosted by Kuwait next month, which is dedicated to offering investment opportunities in Iraq.
The Iraqi government announced last May that it needed about $ 100 billion to rebuild the liberated areas of Da'ash, the north and west of the country.

The infrastructure of the Iraqi ministries in the provinces under the control of "Da'ash" suffered large losses, including power projects and government facilities, estimated at billions of dollars. Finished
