The head of the Arab and international police «INTERPOL» in Iraq, Major General Sadiq Faraj Abdul Rahman, on Monday, there are 400 wanted for the Iraqi judiciary are outside the country, confirming the recovery of about 60 people.

"There are about 400 wanted for the Iraqi judiciary abroad on various charges, including charges of terrorism, corruption, criminal crimes, and others," Abdul Rahman said in a statement to the Saudi daily Asharq Al-Awsat.

"About 60 people have been recovered so far, while red leaflets have been issued to others in accordance with the formulas being dealt with by Interpol, which has 192 members," he said.

"Most of these names have been issued with previous bulletins, but according to INTERPOL's rules, the list, if not arrested, is renewed every five years," Abdul Rahman said.

[ltr]The Parliamentary Foreign Relations Committee on Monday called on the government to activate its agreements with Interpol to recover wanted persons.

"In order to get the wanted people back to Iraq, only on terrorism or financial corruption charges, we need two things. First, we have to move files with Interpol, and the second is to conclude agreements with the host countries for the wanted ones," said member of the committee Abbas al-Bayati.

Al-Bayati said that "the activation of agreements with the countries of the world is necessary," noting that "Iraq is in a state of security and political stability should not tour the wanted in the capitals of the world and they enjoy the public money of the Iraqi state."

Iraqi authorities published lists of wanted men, including the daughter of former regime leader Raghad Saddam Hussein.[/ltr]
