    [rtl]Oil Minister Jabbar al-Luaibi discussed with the representatives of Chinese and Korean companies ways to enhance joint cooperation and development of oil and gas fields in Iraq . "[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Ministry of Oil   said in a statement obtained by "Trend Press" on a copy, on Wednesday, that Allaibi, discussed with the President of the company, "Jinhua," China, complete the procedures for the development of an oil field east of Baghdad .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]At the end of last year, the Iraqi Oil Ministry and China's Genghua signed an initial contract to develop an oil field in eastern Baghdad worth $ 3 billion .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Iraq ranked third in the list of suppliers of crude oil to China in January, in quantities of 4.45 million tons, or equivalent to 1.05 million barrels per day of Iraqi crude oil .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The Iraqi Oil Ministry said in a separate statement that al-Luaibi also discussed with the director of Korean company Kogaz the resumption of work in Iraq's Akkas gas field, south of the western city of Qaim on the border with Syria .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Akkas, also known as Saladin, one of the largest gas fields in Iraq, is estimated at 5.3 trillion cubic feet of gas and is wholly owned by Korean Kogas after signing the field development agreement in 2011 .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]The field was vandalized following the control of an organization advocating it, and Iraqi forces managed to control the field during the liberation of the border area between Iraq and Syria .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Kogas also holds a 22.5 percent stake in a consortium with Gazprom of Russia, Petronas of Malaysia and Tabao of Turkey, who are working on the Badra Iraqi gas field project .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Iraq achieved revenues of $ 252 million from the export of gas during 2017, according to statistics revealed by the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, last February .[/rtl]
     
    [rtl]Iraq has an estimated reserves of 137 trillion cubic feet of gas, 70% of the Iraqi gas gas associated with the extraction of oil to be treated, and Iraq ranks 11th among the countries of the world rich in natural gas .[/rtl]
